Refreshing to hear HP executives...Nice recap Dana.

Refreshing to hear HP executives essentially saying private cloud will evolve over the next decade vs. immediately-right now. I agree with Ann’s points on the economy promoting data center automation, and everything-as-a-service.

We have to respect the fact that data center automation, and mainstream adoption of private clouds will emerge in the face of very constrained budgets. My bet is the IT management companies will lead this automation transformation because they have the tools and fortune 500’s trust, yet not all have the same tool sets for dynamic computing.

In order to get real gains in data center transformation; you have to do it using the production resources you have now vs. buying new. That is a fact. No one is going to buy everything new. Considering this, solutions that can freely move server images from any-to-any environment, (P2P, V2P, P2V, V2V), provisioning severs to dissimilar hardware and completely automate the process across the data center will win. This is where the mainstream value be created.

Thanks again,
Lawrence Guillory
Racemi Inc.
www.Racemi.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
